The Chhukha Tshechu is an annual three-day festival held in the courtyard of Chhukha Dzong, located in Chhukha District.
This vibrant event features a variety of mask dances and traditional folk performances by monks and local community members, serving as offerings to Guru Rinpoche, the saint credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan. The highlight of the festival occurs on the third day with the unfurling of a large Throngdroel (tapestry) depicting Guru Rinpoche, believed to bestow blessings upon all who view it.
Attending the Chhukha Tshechu offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in Bhutanese culture and spirituality, while also enjoying the scenic beauty of the region.
